Ohio deer hunters know the state's rules on deer guns can differ from other states, so a light Fierce Mini Rogue often lands on the range, on coyote outings or on trips to hunt out of state. The Mini Rogue family is made for youth, women and smaller-framed shooters, and its carbon design keeps it easy to carry through Ohio woodlots and farm fields.

Each rifle has a carbon fiber stock, a shorter length of pull and an adjustable comb or push-button cheek piece. TriggerTech or Bix'n Andy triggers give a crisp break, and the CT Mini Rogue XP comes in close to six pounds. Calibers include 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 Winchester and 7mm-08 Remington. Check current Ohio hunting rules before using any rifle for deer.

6.5 Creedmoor is one of the most popular hunting and target cartridges in the country: mild recoil, good long-range accuracy and ammunition you can find almost anywhere.

Fierce updated the Mini Rogue with a streamlined grip, push-button cheek adjustment, a TriggerTech trigger and a C3 carbon fiber barrel; the forend takes Arca-Swiss clamps and a bipod.

This rifle has a 20 in barrel. Finish: Smoked Bronze / Sonora.

Learning to shoot well starts with a rifle that fits. If the length of pull is too long, a young shooter reaches for the trigger and pulls shots. A short pull keeps the grip hand relaxed. Adjust the comb until the cheek weld is solid and the eye is centered on the scope. Build basics on a 22 Creedmoor or 6mm Creedmoor before stepping up to a 308.
