Shotguns and Deer Season: Three New Models for Fall 2026
Deer season is one of the main reasons Ohio hunters look at shotguns in the fall. On October 10, 2026, we are running through three recent items from the shotgun and rifle side of the market. For each one you will find what it is, what the source says, and where to check our catalog. We include only the details from The published announcement. Where a figure is missing, we say so.
Mossberg 990 SPX Magpul shotgun
The Mossberg 990 SPX Magpul is a shotgun in the 990 family, fitted with Magpul parts. It was announced at SHOT Show 2026. The announcement did not come with a confirmed ship date, and no price has been confirmed for it. Treat it as an announced model with no release date yet, and check with a dealer before you plan around it.
Derya Arms EX1500 lever-action .410
The Derya Arms EX1500 is a lever-action shotgun chambered in .410 bore. The Gun Bulletin reported it on October 5, 2026. According to that report, the gun has a mono-block steel build, which means the receiver and barrel are made from one piece of steel. We have not found a price for the EX1500. A .410 is a small-bore gauge, and the lever is what cycles the action, so it is worth handling one before you decide whether it fits your hunting.
Savage Model 334 new cartridges
Savage announced new cartridges for the Model 334 on September 23, 2026. The published announcement does not list which cartridges are included, and we have not found a price for the model. If you hunt with a Savage, read the maker's own announcement for the cartridge list before you buy ammunition. Ammunition is a separate cost from the gun, so count it in your budget.
How to compare these before you buy
Whatever you are looking at, start with the basics that matter in the field. Check the gauge or caliber, the barrel length, and the overall weight, and then think about how far you expect to shoot and how much you will carry through the woods. Compare the sights or optics that come with each model, and find out whether any accessory you want is extra. A gun that looks right on a website can feel different once you hold it, so a store visit is worth the time.
Check the catalog and your dealer
Catalog stock changes from week to week, so use the search box in the menu to check what is in our catalog today. The links above go straight to each model. Every firearm we sell ships to a local licensed dealer, who completes the federal paperwork and the background check before you take the gun home. Ask your dealer about any state or local rules that apply to you, and ask about transfer fees before you order, since each dealer sets its own.
