The mix of gold and shakudo in the floral design makes this a useful study piece for a collector of Japanese fittings. It suits a display set where the contrast between the two metals is the focus. Because the piece is unsigned, its value rests on the metalwork and the design, so compare the flowers and ground closely in the photographs. The gold and shakudo flowers are the detail to check first.
